Description
My skates might look like junk to a lot of people but for a Roller Derby skater they mean a lot. They tell the story of our special times and battles on the banked track. I raced with my skates in all different types of places.... small venues to large arenas. Some buildings were totally unimpressive while others were world famous arenas such as the Cow Palace near San Francisco..... and in places as far away as Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the Big Egg Theater in Tokyo, Japan. I'll never forget my time in Roller Derby, skating for the World Champion San Francisco Bay Bombers and later being a member of the USA All-Star team who competed in and won the World Cup in Tokyo, Japan!
The damage to my helmet ironically happened during my last game as a Bomber. It's pretty broken and so was my heart, knowing my days of skating on the team were over!

Great arrangement here, the damaged helmet and roughed skates really show how brutal that sport can be.
